Risk Analyst

Gerald Metals Risk AnalystGerald Metals, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Risk Analyst to work within the Risk team on the trading floor. The candidate should be extremely detail oriented and understand the importance of accuracy in the core functions of this role. The Risk Analyst is responsible for reconciling, analyzing, and reporting the middle office P&L and risk position. The ideal candidate will possess the interpersonal skills to work well with all levels and personalities as the role requires working closely with Traders, Trading Assistants, as well as Accounting, Distribution, and Treasury Depts.Responsibilities:Daily reconciliation of Risk/Trading system P&L to trader’s P&LPerforms analysis to ensure accuracy of P&LIdentifies and reconciles discrepancies that impact the P&L and posts adjustments and/or reservesUnderstands and reports P&L and MTM attributes and movementsRuns EOD revaluation processesReconciles, ensures accuracy of, and reports Risk positionValidates market valuationMonitors and ensures compliance of control policies and proceduresFields and responds to inquiries from management, traders, and external auditorsOther duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field3 – 5 years of experience preferably in trading/commodity industryStrong analytic and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in ExcelExtremely accurate, detail oriented, and organizedAbility to liaise and work well with all levels and personalitiesAbility to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and often in stressful situationsAvailability to work extended hours as necessaryAbility to work in office 5 days a weekEmployee Programs & Benefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefitsCommuter benefitsFlexible Spending AccountsHealth Saving Account401(k) plan with company matchShort- and long-term disabilityTuition reimbursementPaid time off for vacation, personal, and sick timeWe are an equal-opportunity employer.
