Federal Work Study - Communications and Marketing Assistant

ECU Department of Anthropology is currently seeking a Federal Work Study student to serve as a Communications and Marketing Assistant for the Fall and Spring semesters. This student will assist with promoting departmental events, programs, and initiatives through a variety of print and digital communications while providing general administrative support as needed.

Duties Include:

• Assisting with the creation and scheduling of social media content.
• Designing department newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials.
• Coordinating projects with ECU Creative Services and Logo Review to ensure brand compliance.
• Updating department communications and marketing materials.
• Photographing and promoting department events and activities, as needed.
• Assisting faculty and staff with communication and marketing projects as assigned.
• Performing general office duties as assigned.

This position is for the full academic year 2026-27.

GPA Requirement - Minimum of 3.0

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) - A graduate student is preferred; however, all students will be considered. The department also prefers that the applicant has excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented, and have the willingness to work with various groups of people.

Eligibility for Employment - Individuals submitting profiles for these positions must be current ECU students, in good-standing and meet the respective GPA requirement as required by the position type. Final candidates may be subject to criminal & sex offender background checks based upon the duties and responsibilities of the position. Some vacancies also require motor vehicle checks.
