Senior Finance Manager

Senior Finance Manager (Finance) Provide financial leadership and strategic support to the Global Supply Chain organization, working directly with the VP of Global Supply Chain and Transportation. Reporting to the Sr Director of Finance, this role controls annual material and freight spend across multiple divisions, with direct impact on margin performance, cost competitiveness, and operational decision-making. The role operates in a dynamic cost environment with significant exposure to commodity and transportation market volatility, requiring both financial rigor and the ability to translate complex cost drivers into executive-ready insights. Experience A minimum of seven years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment is required. Direct experience with standard cost accounting and material cost analysis. Preferred Experience Direct exposure to direct materials procurement and/or multimodal transportation cost structures. Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Essbase (or equivalent EPM/consolidation tools). Multi-site or multi-divisional manufacturing finance experience. Familiarity with commodity indices, hedging concepts, and freight rate benchmarking. Education A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree is required. Preferred Education MBA, CPA, or CMA. Required Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and standard costing principles. Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Essbase preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities (complex modeling, large data sets, variance analysis). Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proven ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders with data-backed recommendations. Comfort challenging senior leaders with data-driven perspectives. Ability to translate complex cost drivers into concise, executive-ready narratives. Bias for action, ownership mindset, and continuous improvement orientation. Work Conditions Primarily office-based with onsite work arrangement. Standard business hours with occasional overtime during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles. Travel up to 20% as needed. Physical Requirements Job conditions require visual inspections for reading and screen use, manual dexterity for typing at a computer workstation, talking clearly and hearing while using communication devices, making precise hand and finger movements, and sitting for periods of time while working at a computer workstation. Responsibilities Serve as the primary finance business partner to Global Supply Chain leadership, participating in operating reviews, staff meetings, and strategic planning sessions. Partner with sourcing, procurement, and logistics to influence cost, pricing, carrier selection, and network optimization decisions. Collaborate with Treasury and Procurement on commodity hedging strategy (steel, aluminum, fuel surcharges) and index-based pricing mechanisms (e.g. CRU, PPI benchmarks) Lead monthly accounting, accruals, and financial analysis for direct material purchases and freight spending. Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts for material commodities (steel, aluminum, resins, etc.) and multi-modal transportation costs (truckload, LTL, intermodal, ocean, parcel). Provide management with clear material and freight economic reporting, including comparisons to prior periods and annual budgets. Drive cost productivity initiatives through PPV (purchase price variance) analysis, trend identification, performance reviews, and corrective actions. Lead the annual material standard cost setting process in collaboration with commodity managers, plant controllers, and finance leadership. Direct third-party freight audit and pay providers to ensure accurate and timely freight accruals and recovery of billing errors. Ensure accurate financial reporting and support internal and external audit requests. Support sourcing, procurement, and logistics initiatives through financial modeling and analytics. Leverage Oracle ERP and Hyperion Essbase to enhance reporting transparency, forecast accuracy, and decision-making speed. Support additional projects and ad hoc analyses as required.
