Banquet Server

A banquet server provides exceptional customer service and ensures the smooth execution of events such as weddings, corporate meetings, and other special gatherings. Banquet servers prepare tables, serve food and beverages, and assist with event setup and cleanup while maintaining a high level of professionalism and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Event Setup:
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, silverware, and glassware according to the event's layout.
• Decorate tables and spaces as per the event theme or guidelines.
• Service Duties:
• Serve plated meals or manage buffet stations.
• Deliver beverages, including wine and cocktails, promptly and correctly.
• Respond to guest needs and requests with professionalism and efficiency.
• Coordination:
• Work with event coordinators, kitchen staff, and other servers to ensure seamless service.
• Communicate any guest concerns or special requests to supervisors.
• Clean-Up:
• Clear tables and remove dishes after each course or at the end of service.
• Pack away decorations, chairs, and tables.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the banquet space before, during, and after the event.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling practices.
• Adhere to alcohol-serving laws and company policies.

Requirements

• Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in food service or event catering is an advantage but not always required.
• Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to carry and balance trays of food and drinks.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Stamina to work in fast-paced environments, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
