Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide individualized nursing care based on established competencies in peri-anesthesia nursing and pharmacology. The role will involve caring for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Implement peri-anesthesia standards of care.
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments and airway management.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects and interactions.
• Float to other campuses as necessary based on patient census.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification (AHA)
• Valid CA RN Licensure
• ACLS and PALS Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU RN experience in a high-acuity care hospital or ICU setting.
• Extensive cardiac/cath lab experience preferred.

Shift Information

• 4x10-Hour shifts: 09:00 - 19:30 or 12:30 - 21:30
• No weekend shifts required.

Skills and Competencies

• End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
• Airway assessment and management
• Cardiac arrest response and CPR
• Management of ventilated patients
• Central line care and management
• Administration and monitoring of medications, including narcotics and IV vasopressors
• Placement of oral/nasal airways
• Ability to interpret lab values

Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 40-50 patients
• Number of Rooms: 32

Compliance and Orientation

• Must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• A 7-year work history verification is required.
• All compliance documents must be submitted 10 days prior to start date.
• 24 hours of orientation will be provided.
