Housekeeper - CorrectionsPerforms a variety of housekeeping activities to maintain the facility in a clean and sanitary manner. This position is located in a correctional facility.Operate various specialized cleaning equipmentResponsible for complete and proper disposal of trash, recycling, and other disposable materialsDamp dust furniture, windowsills, etc.Empty trash containers dailyWet mop floors in all rooms and bathrooms daily. Damp mop all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others dailyClean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, and showers dailyClean all air ventsBe proactive in reporting facility deficiencies to supervisor or Service Coordinator for correctionFollow instructions on use of cleaning solutions. All procedures for solution use will be part of the housekeeping trainingUse safety precautions in all housekeeping servicesAssists others outside of assigned work area as necessaryPerforms other tasks as directedMaintain logs per ACA requirements as applicableAbility to follow written and oral instruction and fill out paperwork/work orders in a clear manner.Thorough knowledge of proper housekeeping and cleaning procedures.Knowledge of how to operate equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures.High School Diploma, or equivalentThis is a full-time exempt position with working hours Monday through Friday. Some overtime, holiday, or weekends may be required.No travel required for this positionThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.This job operates both in a professional office environment and onsite supervision. Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards. Must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, industrial settings and constructions sites.The employee is regularly required to talk or listen effectively.
