RN Critical Care Step-down Unit (New Grads Welcome) Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, a Magnet®-designated facility, offers advanced medical and critical care services throughout the greater Grosse Pointe area. About the Unit A 39‑bed Critical Care Step‑Down Unit provides high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care for a variety of medical conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, neurological disorders, postoperative care, and ventilated tracheostomy patients. All unit staff attend hospital and nursing orientation and complete unit‑specific core competencies during the orientation process. The team consists of RNs and NAs, and collaboration is essential. Responsibilities The clinical nurse applies the nursing process and ANA scope of practice to deliver professional, patient‑family‑centered care. The nurse works under the direction of the Nurse Leader and follows Corewell Health policies and procedures. Qualifications & Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate degree or higher. If not a minimum BSN, a new graduate with less than one year of experience must sign an educational contract upon hire to complete a BSN within five years. Graduates from non‑accredited nursing programs must have at least one year of acute‑care experience or more than two years in a licensed health‑care role (e.g., LPN, EMT) and must have passed the NCLEX. Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. Upon hire, the license must be obtained; new graduates have 60 days from hire to take the NCLEX‑RN. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardio‑Vascular Life Support (ACLS) and Critical Care/ Emergency Care/Post‑Op and PACU, Radiology certifications required within 180 days.
