Physician Allergist (Chesapeake Specialty Care)

Allergist Position

The Allergist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of allergic, asthmatic, and related immunologic conditions. The Allergist works collaboratively with ENT providers and clinical staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for both pediatric and adult patients in an outpatient setting. The Allergist uses strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based medicine.

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with allergic rhinitis, sinus-related allergy symptoms, asthma, eczema, food allergies, drug allergies, and related immunologic conditions
2. Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform focused physical examinations
3. Order, perform, and interpret allergy testing, including skin prick, intradermal, and selected laboratory testing as appropriate
4. Develop individualized treatment plans, including allergen avoidance strategies, pharmacologic therapy, and immunotherapy
5. Prescribe and manage medications related to allergic and immunologic conditions, including biologic therapies when indicated
6. Supervise and monitor allergy immunotherapy protocols and patient response to treatment

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics and fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology
• Board certified or board eligible in Allergy and Immunology
• Active and unrestricted medical license, or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable state
• DEA registration and controlled substance authority as required
• Demonstrated experience in outpatient allergy evaluation, testing, and immunotherapy management preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health records and standard clinical documentation systems

Total Rewards

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Specialty Care Networks' salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
