Senior Storekeeper

Department Summary At UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services (HHS), the role supports UCLA’s tradition of excellence by providing quality housing, dining, and hospitality services. Position Summary Under the direction of the Store Supervisor, the incumbent performs material management duties for UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services properties. Responsibilities include maintaining the Housing Maintenance Parts Department inventory, operating the work order system, purchasing and tracking parts, managing multiple stockrooms via a database management system, conducting periodic physical inventory, facilitating maintenance/repair of tools, equipment and vehicles, and monitoring uniform service. Salary & Compensation UCLA offers a full pay range. Salary is determined by budget, experience, skills, knowledge, and other business considerations. Qualifications 2-3 years’ experience with inventory stock control procedures, stock inventory counts, and restock ordering using multiple vendors. Ability to prioritize assignments and complete work in a timely manner when workload changes. Working knowledge of inventory stock control procedures and multiple stock items. Knowledge of general work safety practices. Proficiency in personal computers and database management. Strong written, verbal, and telephone communication in English. Basic math skills and filing organization. Typing speed of 40–50 words per minute. Attention to detail and accuracy while following instructions. Ability to establish and maintain amicable working relationships with peers and supervisors. Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, squat, balance, flex, press, and push during storekeeper tasks. Capability to lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs from floor to waist high or from shoulder to above head while standing on a ladder. Must possess a valid California Driver's License and be able to drive a pick‑up truck or van. Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Must possess and maintain a valid CA non‑commercial Class C License upon hire. Special Conditions for Employment Background check required. Continued employment contingent upon satisfactory background investigation. Live Scan background check must be completed prior to start of employment. Candidate must be 18 years or older. Pre‑placement physical examination required. Position subject to California DMV Pull Notice System; proof of satisfactory driving record required. Back‑lifting exam required.
