Medication Assistance CoordinatorWe are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Assistance Coordinator to join our Pharmacy team. In this role, you will help patients overcome financial barriers to treatment by connecting them with medication assistance programs, charitable foundations, and other community resources that support access to essential medications.As a key member of our ambulatory pharmacy team, you will work closely with patients, providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, community organizations, and healthcare staff to coordinate enrollment, manage ongoing assistance programs, and help ensure patients receive the medications they need to improve their health and quality of life.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys patient advocacy, relationship-building, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families within our community.What You'll DoServe as a liaison between patients, providers, pharmaceutical companies, and community organizations regarding medication assistance programsCoordinate enrollment and re-enrollment activities for eligible patients participating in medication assistance programsComplete and monitor applications, documentation, and eligibility requirements for assistance programs and charitable foundationsFollow up on medication requests and ensure timely processing of applications and approvalsMaintain accurate records within the electronic medical record (EMR) and program databasesManage foundation accounts and assist with billing and reimbursement processes as appropriateProvide information and referral services regarding available community resources and support programsEducate and assist patients, providers, and office staff on medication assistance resources and program requirementsMaintain knowledge of available pharmaceutical manufacturer programs, grants, foundations, and other assistance opportunitiesCollect and track program data, outcomes, and performance metricsAssist with financial, budgetary, and operational activities related to the Medication Assistance Program (MAP)Support the development and implementation of outreach and marketing efforts that promote medication assistance servicesCollaborate with pharmacy leadership and healthcare teams to improve patient access to medications and support servicesWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPharmacy technician experience preferredPrevious customer service, healthcare, pharmacy, clinic, or business-related experience preferredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to build positive relationships with patients, providers, and community partnersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentialityBasic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic medical record systems and program databasesPassion for helping patients navigate healthcare resources and access needed medicationsRequired:Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician in Training in the applicable state of practiceMust obtain applicable Indiana Pharmacy Technician registration within required timeframes if hired pending licensurePreferred:Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) designation or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employmentWhat We OfferA meaningful role that directly helps patients access life-changing medications and treatmentThe opportunity to make a lasting impact on patients, families, and the communityCollaboration with pharmacists, providers, clinic staff, and community partnersExposure to pharmacy operations, patient assistance programs, and healthcare resource navigationOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesCareer growth opportunities within pharmacy services, ambulatory care, and healthcare operationsA supportive, mission-driven team environment focused on patient advocacy and service excellenceA stable healthcare organization committed to improving health outcomes and serving the communityA culture built on compassion, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvementEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
