Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Medical Surgical Floor

Location: Knapp Medical Center - Weslaco, TX

Per Diem | Days | 12 - Hour Shifts

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an important role in our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care in our hospital's medical-surgical (Med-Surge) unit, LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas. With 227 beds, the community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Responsibilities

• The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, and meets the communication needs of the patient and family; Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. IV certification upon hire.
