Travel RN - Telemetry - ER - Hold

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ED Holds/Telemetry position requiring a strong cardiac telemetry background and the ability to titrate cardiac drips in an acute care, Level III trauma setting. Requirements Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — pending certifications not accepted Minimum 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experience strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to titrate cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) Cerner EMR experience beneficial 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver's license required for consideration Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address as shown on driver's license) Responsibilities Acute care hospital setting, ED Holds/Telemetry unit Level III trauma center Patients are ED holds waiting for inpatient bed placement, primarily MS/Tele population Patient ratio of 1:4 Telemetry monitoring required — nurses must independently read and interpret cardiac strips (no monitor tech on unit) Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone RNs are required to titrate drips per physician orders and parameters No ventilator management required; BiPAP/CPAP not listed as unit equipment PCTs are available on the unit ED charge nurse provides unit oversight Charting via Cerner EMR 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a) 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Must work 2 of 4 major holidays, rotating with permanent staff First to float; may float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and sister ED campuses as needed Primary responsibilities include caring for ED patients awaiting inpatient bed placement, with a focus on telemetry and medical patients May assist with ED patient tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration, but will not serve as the primary RN for an ED patient assignment Orientation consists of 2 shifts on the Med/Surg/Tele unit at the primary campus Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam (via Relias) prior to start — 2 attempts allowed; failure results in a 6-month DNU status for this health system's AZ region A pass/fail simulation lab on sterile technique (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is conducted on day one of orientation; failure results in a 6-month DNU status Navy scrubs required Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered First-time travelers are welcome to apply Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-715977 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
