Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department Fast‑paced, high‑volume Emergency Department looking for top skilled Paramedic. Work Location: Texas Health Alliance, 10864 Texas Health Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76244. Work Hours: Full Time, Night Shift (7p to 7a), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Paramedics work closely with physicians, RNs, respiratory therapy, and ancillary teams as valued members of the interdisciplinary ED care team. Hospital‑based paramedics function within a defined ED‑specific scope of practice, performing advanced clinical skills under direct physician supervision in accordance with Texas Health Resources protocols. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Fast‑paced, high‑volume department averaging 100‑200 patients/day. Professional paramedic demonstrates understanding of basic human needs and patient affiliations. Responsibilities Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation: Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. Administers ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. Administers all IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient. Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs. Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices. Manages cervical collar. Conducts external defibrillation. Applies nasal cannula or oxygen mask. Inserts and removes oral airway. Performs ultrasound‑guided peripheral IV access. Draws blood from ports. Other duties as assigned by the care team. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred. EMT‑P – Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic required or LP – Licensed Paramedic. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required. BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required. PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days of hire required.
