Position Title: 1.0 FTE Speech Language Pathologist. Position Location: District Wide. Position Posting: 020-2026. Position Begins: 08/24/2026. Salary: $66,137 to $124,653 based on 2025-26 salary schedule, based upon education & experience. 5 days per week. 184 days/180 student attendance (per District calendar). District salary schedule. Position Description Reporting directly to the Director of Special Services, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services in the areas of student assessment, augmentative alternative communication devices, direct therapy, training and consultation to staff and families to support students to function at their highest possible level within the educational system. The SLP participates as a member of an education team in the assessment and program evaluation for students. The SLP serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families. Essential Functions Inform principals, teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services. Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders by utilizing screening criteria, materials, procedures and record-keeping strategies. Select and employ diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program. Establish criteria for caseload selection and dismissal. Select and implement therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of each student with a speech, language and/or hearing disorder. Maintain a system to record all identification and evaluative data and continuous student performance information. Identify and define factors which determine the effectiveness of therapy. Redefine goals and modify therapy strategies consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the individual family service plan (IFSP). Consult with parents, educators and other professionals regarding needs of children/students to assure appropriate learning experiences. Complete all required reports and records for compliance within statutory guidelines. Provide technical assistance to communication technicians and assistants. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills Perform single technical tasks; upgrade skills occasionally in order to meet changing job conditions; manage student behavior with a positive and proactive management system; maintain accurate records; organize paperwork/records/caseloads; manage time efficiently; use pertinent software applications; adhere to safety practices; operate standard office equipment; read, understand and follow manuals. Knowledge Knowledge of current research on best practices of speech/language pathology; state and federal special education laws; Individual Education Plan components; legal timelines for special education documents and procedures; developmentally and age appropriate activities; stages of language acquisition; safety practices and procedures; screening and diagnostic procedures; therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of students. Abilities Able to communicate clearly to others; gather, collate, classify and analyze data; use job-related equipment; work independently; collaborate with team members; work with a diversity of individuals; independently problem solve; create student IEP goals and objectives; plan for, monitor and assist support personnel; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines and schedule; work with frequent interruptions. Responsibilities Maintain legal records including IEPs and Medicaid billing; work under limited supervision using standardized practices; work within a defined budget; create and organize a therapy schedule for students; maintain safety protocols for staff and students. Working Environment Physical demands: 10% sitting, 50% walking, 40% standing. Work performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Education Master’s degree in related field. Certificated & License Requirements WA State ESA Certificate with Speech Language Pathology endorsement; Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate. FLSA Status Exempt.
