Job Summary Branch Banking Market Leader provides comprehensive leadership to a designated market of branch locations to transform how we deliver financial success to individuals and businesses. Responsible for building high performing, diverse teams, coaching and empowering the team to deliver educational experiences that truly empower clients while maintaining a client‑centric culture, diversity, ethics, and integrity. Coaching & Talent Development Acquire, engage, and retain staff to meet expectations. Coach, motivate, and support strategic initiatives through feedback, leadership guidance, and development opportunities. Ensure leaders do the same, modeling client‑centric behaviors. Identify individual development opportunities and career paths, provide disciplinary actions and exit non‑performers when necessary. Community Engagement Observe Branch Leaders from the client perspective to deliver educational experiences. Identify tailored skillsets for specialized activities, execute skill‑building training for specific job families, and personally participate in CRA opportunities within district communities. Promote a client‑centric vision and plan, educate and empower clients to improve their financial quality. Ensure excellent client experience by knowledge of all bank products and services and by resolving problems to prevent dissatisfaction. Market & Performance Management Introduce efficiencies and create capacity for deeper, meaningful, profitable conversations that help branches reach goals. Drive operational efficiency and accuracy related to policies, procedures, and compliance. Establish business contacts through community events, and collaborate with branch team members and business partners (MLOs, FCs, Business Banking). Partner closely with Market Operations Leader to ensure operational compliance. Risk Management Communicate strategic initiatives and align them with Flagstar Bank’s vision and performance objectives. Remove roadblocks to execution of strategic plans. Respond to audit inquiries and reinforce the bank’s mission, vision, and values as a culture agent, motivating employees toward excellence in service, sales knowledge, learning, and technology‑driven products and processes. Additional Accountabilities Perform special projects and additional duties as required. Consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards. Complete required compliance trainings. Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Support talent management functions, including employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, and succession planning. Qualifications Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent. 10+ years branch banking experience required, with 6+ years in a leadership role. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field (not required if on‑job experience substitutes). Job Competencies: Proven coaching and leadership skills; proven ability to deliver results; multi‑tasking; client service skills; ability to resolve problems and prevent dissatisfaction; operational knowledge of retail bank procedures; coach high‑performance sales and service teams; lead people, projects, and campaigns; exceed goals; develop partnerships; inspire and influence all levels; strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills; build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships; align partnership efforts with enterprise goals; foster positive work culture and productive environment. Travel requirements: 65% of time away from office. Physical demands (ADA): moderate exertion and stamina (standing, sitting, walking, driving, occasional lifting). Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $86,923.50 – $150,167.00. Variable incentives, bonuses, commissions, or other awards as outlined in the offer.
