Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom aide, or in a related support role
• Familiarity with supporting students in a special education setting, preferably within a self-contained classroom
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when facing classroom challenges
• Basic understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in education a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct assistance to students with diverse learning, behavioral, or physical needs
• Work closely with special education teachers to implement individualized instructional strategies and classroom management techniques
• Help facilitate the educational and social development of students by encouraging participation and engagement
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and monitoring student activities
• Foster an encouraging, safe, and respectful classroom atmosphere
• Support students with daily living skills and personal care as needed
