Product Engineer

Job Title: Product Engineer Location: Somerset, New Jersey Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $28- $36/hour Hours: 8 AM- 5 PM or 9 AM- 6 PM (some flex) M-F Responsibilities Design, develop, and manufacture of battery electrodes (primarily composed of active material, conducting carbon and binder) Characterize powders, films, and dispersions to ensure quality and performance standards Work with traditional battery materials as well as new active materials under development for future commercialization Requirements BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science and Engineering Hands‑on experience with advanced materials—powder, dispersion/slurry, coating—is essential Reasonable prior experience working with battery electrodes; candidates with related experience in material science or chemical engineering are encouraged (training available) Minimum 2 to 5 years of industrial experience in the chemical or materials industry preferred, but recent MS grads or BS candidates with up to a year of experience will be considered Knowledge of Wet or Solid state chemistry Experience in using standard laboratory equipment Knowledge and experience in characterizing powders, films, and dispersions is a plus System One is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
