About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Tele Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Cardiac experience Ability to work in two different units during a 12-hour shift Familiarity with Cerner or Epic Description: Float Pool Med/Surg/Tele RN for nights needed. Candidate must have cardiac experience. First-time travelers are welcome with 2-3 years of experience. Nurses may work in two different units within a single shift based on unit needs. Every other weekend coverage is required. Familiarity with Cerner as a documentation system is preferred. Patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and observation units in Telemetry. The float pool staff is placed based on unit needs during bed meetings. The unit utilizes a video system for monitoring patients. Staff in charge of monitoring may need to be relieved for breaks and meals. Candidates should have skills in interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of cardiac drips. Experience with IV insulin protocols is important. Telemetry experience is required along with the ability to manage dysrhythmias. No on-call hours are counted toward guaranteed minimum hours. Travelers must meet a guaranteed hour requirement each week. Background checks will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must provide copies of their certifications. Standard contract length is 14 weeks. Return staff must wait a designated period before reapplying as travelers.
