Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Tech 2)

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Technician 2) based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

What you will get to do:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, belt replacement, and filter changes on pumps, fans, and motors.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in machinery and equipment, such as low-voltage motors, controls, and drives.
  • Work independently or collaboratively with other technicians to identify system issues, determine root causes, and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Assist engineers with the design, installation, and commissioning of product support equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess maintenance needs, prevent equipment breakdowns, and ensure optimal performance of facility equipment and machinery.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, such as prints, diagrams, specifications, manufacturer manuals, and engineering drawings.

Basic Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Tech 2):

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or an Associate's degree in a related technical field.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Basic Electrical experience, including motor control, electrical distribution, and machinery installation.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as grinders, drills, or saws
  • Ability to work from ladders and elevated areas.
  • Capability to lift up to 45 pounds during a standard work shift.
  • Experience with computer and automated systems (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Access, MRP)
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related experience
  • Hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment
  • Experience soldering and brazing copper piping.
