Inpatient Clinician

Overview Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a recognized leader in pediatric behavioral and mental health care, advancing the field through research, innovative interventions, and comprehensive treatment options. Job Summary Provides clinical assessment, behavioral health treatment, case management, care coordination, and crisis intervention for children, adolescents and their families across all professional and clinical settings. Essential Functions Accurately assess and document client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, and diagnosis. Prescribe initial interventions promptly. Assist in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives. Employ empirically‑supported treatments consistent with program expectations. Coordinate care with other service providers and community resources to ensure continuity. Complete clinical charting and administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards. Remain current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare and collaborate with team psychiatrist. Education and Licensure Master’s Degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy. Appropriate Ohio licensure required; must remain current and pursue independent license preferred. Certifications Not specified. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers, and community representatives. Experience Experience providing and managing culturally appropriate and trauma‑informed behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families. Physical Requirements Occasionally bend, twist, climb stairs or ladder. Drive motor vehicles as required. Lift/carry 0‑10 lbs; push/pull 0‑25 lbs. Frequently flex/extend neck, sit, stand, walk. Continuously audible speech, color vision, computer skills, decision making, problem solving, hearing acuity, peripheral vision, etc. Constantly talking on phone or in person (67‑100%).
