Job Overview Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services and offers a full continuum of care, including inpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT services for adults. Position Summary Responsible for performing all aspects of Central Florida Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities and professionals; making outside referrals when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre‑certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4. Job Duties Request clinical information on potential patients. Initiate verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission. Coordinate admissions with all necessary unit staff and physician. Follow EMTALA regulations and identify high‑risk individuals presenting for emergency care. Minimum one year experience as a registered nurse; six months experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Florida. Current CPR certification required (may be obtained upon hire). Knowledge of current nursing procedures. Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1 Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑5 PM; Week 2 Monday & Tuesday 9 AM‑5 PM.
