Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Licensed Mental Health Counselor include:
- Providing comprehensive clinical services by developing and implementing personalized, recovery-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s specific needs.
- Conducting continuous assessments of clients’ mental health, treatment effectiveness, and adjustments to service plans as necessary to promote optimal care.
- Facilitating the development and monitoring of individual service plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring their active participation in the treatment process.
- Empowering clients by teaching essential coping mechanisms, effective problem-solving strategies, and communication skills.
- Educating clients on available community resources and actively advocating for their access to these vital services.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will primarily focus on working with adults who are grappling with various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, trauma responses, and severe mental illness. You will be responsible for fostering an environment that supports their recovery journey, helping them to navigate the complexities of their conditions while promoting resilience and independence in their daily lives.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Current state licensure from the state board, with qualifications such as Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD).
- Capability to practice independently and without supervision, maintaining a strong ethical framework in clinical practice.
- No prior disciplinary actions against the license.
- Proficiency with technology, including telehealth platforms and electronic health records, along with a reliable internet connection.

- Demonstrated experience providing direct clinical services in mental health settings, with a clear understanding of therapeutic modalities and best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, showcasing a sympathetic and client-centered approach.
- Experience in developing skill-building activities for clients and enhancing caregiver roles, particularly in daily and community living skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement symptom monitoring, behavior management techniques, and closure planning.
- A nuanced understanding of family development issues and how they relate to individual mental health outcomes.
