Porter

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Porters/Dishwashers to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing equipment, and assisting with general cleaning duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines or by hand.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, kitchen surfaces, and equipment.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and remove trash and recycling throughout the shift.
• Restock clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies in designated storage areas.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms, walk-in coolers, and other back-of-house areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Support kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management.
• Perform opening, closing, and deep-cleaning duties as scheduled.

Qualifications:

• Previous dishwashing or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditions.
• Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment.

Work Environment:

• Cafeteria, healthcare facility, hotel, or other commercial food service environment.
