Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a PRN basis, supporting Occupational Therapists in designing and implementing programs that help patients regain physical and mental stability. This role involves working with patients ranging from newborns to geriatric individuals, ensuring personalized care plans are accurately evaluated and executed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities- Collaborate with therapists to plan and conduct therapeutic programs.
- Maintain compliance with privacy regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.
- Perform duties within the scope of practice as defined by certification boards.
- Document patient care accurately and timely according to organizational policies.
- Education aligned with certification requirements at the time of issuance.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the appropriate state board.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
- Previous experience in a similar clinical environment is advantageous.
- Fundamental understanding of Occupational Therapy principles.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements This position involves medium work, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds. Expect to spend 26-50% of the workday standing or walking, with or without reasonable accommodation.
