Responsibilities may include: Administering oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications Performing respiratory assessments and treatments Monitoring and managing mechanical ventilation Assisting with airway management Performing arterial blood gas collection and analysis as applicable Monitoring patient response to respiratory therapy Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other members of the clinical team Maintaining accurate patient documentationFollowing facility policies, infection-control standards, and respiratory care protocols Qualifications Current Virginia Respiratory Therapist license RRT or CRT credential through the NBRC Current BLS certification Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on assignment Recent clinical respiratory therapy experience Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team 1 year of acute care experience ** Specilalty positions require more credentialing** Why First Choice Nurses?
