Description Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across assigned areas, including patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary spaces, exam and procedure rooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, corridors, and other public areas. Duties include operating a variety of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, wall and window washing tools, shampoo machines, and floor care machines. Responsibilities also include sweeping, stripping, and waxing floors, as well as performing both high and low dusting to ensure all surfaces are properly maintained. The role includes thorough cleaning of vertical and horizontal surfaces using approved cleaning solutions, with strict adherence to infection control standards, including isolation room cleaning protocols. Knowledge of the appropriate use, handling, and storage of disinfectants, cleaning agents, soaps, detergents, and floor care products is preferred, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
