Job Title: Commercial Electrician UP TO $45hr

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity for journeyman and apprentice-level electricians to contribute to medium to large commercial construction projects, including both new construction and reconstruction. You will perform a wide range of electrical tasks such as running wire, bending conduit, and troubleshooting issues on diverse commercial sites, while collaborating closely with project teams and mentoring electrician helpers.

Responsibilities

• Install, run, and terminate electrical wiring for medium to large commercial construction projects, including both new builds and reconstruction.
• Measure, cut, and bend conduit accurately to support various electrical installations in accordance with project specifications.
• Read, interpret, and follow electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to complete installations correctly and safely.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and components as needed to identify issues and implement effective solutions on commercial projects.
• Work independently on all aspects of electrical work, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with general contractors and other subcontractors on site to coordinate work and maintain efficient project progress.
• Guide and support electrician helpers by demonstrating proper techniques, explaining tasks, and delegating work where appropriate.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and project leads while contributing ideas to improve efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on active construction sites.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment correctly and safely for electrical installations and repairs.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience working as a commercial electrician on construction projects.
• Ability to run electrical wire efficiently and accurately in commercial settings.
• Proficiency in bending conduit and installing it to meet project specifications and code requirements.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Capability to work independently on all aspects of electrical work, from installation to troubleshooting.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other electricians, helpers, and on-site trades.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing project needs.
• Prior experience with commercial electrical construction environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on a variety of commercial projects such as industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, and high-end residential properties.
• Comfort interacting with general contractors and other subcontractors on active job sites.
• Strong communication skills to provide direction to helpers and coordinate with project teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Solid understanding of safe work practices on construction sites.

Work Environment

The role involves hands-on work with electrical tools, wiring, conduit, and blueprints in a field-based setting, where adherence to safety practices and appropriate construction-site attire is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Downers Grove,IL.
