Hybron is an advanced manufacturing company that is building lightweight composites at mass production scale. At Hybron, we have pioneered a new composites manufacturing process that enables complex, high performance composite parts to be produced 10-100 times faster than traditional manufacturing, at a fraction of the cost.

We recently closed an oversubscribed $25M seed round, are backed by the Northrop Grumman Technology Accelerator, and are rapidly growing to commercialize and mass produce composite products at a scale never seen before. Our current focus is applying our proprietary process to composite artillery shells, solid rocket motor nozzles, gas turbine engine components, and airframes.

About the Role
This is a full-time, in-person role at our El Segundo pilot facility. As you will be working at an early-stage deep tech startup, this role will span many different tasks. You will need to be a self-starter and be adaptable to performing many different jobs. Along with these high expectations comes the opportunity to significantly influence the product development, strategy, and trajectory of a fast-growing startup company. Hybron is making a deliberate decision to invest in quality up front. As such, this role involves building the foundation of Hybron’s quality function by leading the effort to establish a quality management system and becoming AS9100 and ISO9001 certified. You will be responsible for ensuring that every part that leaves Hybron meets high quality standards as part of a lean, rigorous, and effective quality program.
You’re a great fit if you are comfortable wearing many hats, approach quality as an enabling function, and work exceptionally well in cross-functional roles in companies that prioritize engineering and product.

Core Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a Quality Management System
• Demonstrated ability to achieve ISO9001/ AS9100 certifications or experience owning significant portions of these programs such that full ownership is a reasonable expectation
• Experience with NDT for advanced materials, including CT, UT, tap testing, etc.
• Non-conformance and MRB experience, including analyzing composite defects (delamination, porosity, fiber/resin richness) and driving corrective action
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field (Composites, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Polymer Science, etc.)
• Willingness to be hands-on, including with part-level testing and inspection
• Must be a US Person pursuant to the EAR and the ITAR definitions and able to work in-person at our facility in El Segundo
  
  
  
   

Also Important

• Experience working with fiber-reinforced polymer composites materials and manufacturing
• Supplier quality experience: qualifying suppliers and enforcing quality flowdowns (both to and from Hybron)
• Experience with relevant QMS software and adjacent production tools (MES, ERP, etc…)
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a drive to deliver on ambitious schedules, even and especially if unconventional & creative solutions are necessary to do so
  
  
  
   

Nice to Have

• Experience operating relevant equipment such as metrology instruments, including laser scanners, CMMs, DSC, TGA, etc…
• Experience with composite molding technologies such as compression or injection molding
• Six Sigma and/ or Lean certification
• Experience with taking products from zero to one at a small company

• Grow and lead a quality team as we begin to manufacture at scale
• Own Hybron’s quality program, systems, infrastructure, and roadmap
• Calibrate the team’s capabilities to increasingly rigorous standards and regulations as we grow capabilities and product lines

Compensation and Schedule

• $130,000 - $190,000 per year
• Significant stock options in the company
• Potential additional compensation
