Senior Project Engineer

job summary:
A Senior Project Engineer is needed for a leading food manufacturing organization in northern WV. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible to drive innovation and operational excellence by leading the planning and delivery of complex engineering initiatives across multiple processing plants. You will manage the entire project lifecycle-from initial design to final commissioning-ensuring all work enhances plant performance, efficiency, and safety. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors, you play a vital role in keeping projects on time and within budget.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering and possess 3+ years of relevant project engineering experience within a facility that produces ready-to-eat or poultry products. We are looking for a leader with advanced AutoCAD skills and a proven ability to manage technical projects while communicating effectively with both plant personnel and external vendors. Relocation is available for qualified candidates, or candidates can travel to the plants weekly if they're within a 3 hours radius. This opportunity carries excellent bonus potential.

responsibilities:

• Develop capital budgets and manage project timelines from conceptual design through final handoff

• Serve as the primary liaison for external contractors, overseeing site layouts and providing weekend supervision for installations

• Plan and manage the relocation or installation of essential utilities to support new equipment and facility upgrades

• Lead project-specific safety meetings and enforce compliance standards across all active work zones

• Maintain and improve "as-built" drawings and version control for facilities, equipment, and property

• Identify and implement operational changes that drive business value and plant reliability
