Description The Autism Treatment Center is currently hiring immediately for several positions due to growth. We are actively recruiting for Registered Behavior Technicians for our outpatient clinic . The mission of the Autism Treatment Center (ATC) is to assist people with autism and related disorders throughout their lives as they learn, play, work, and live in the community. Hours Hours: * Dependent on the current needs of the program Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Pay With current Registered Behavior Technician certification - $17.00/hour Without current Registered Behavior Technician certification - $15.00/hour * Guaranteed 40 hours a week! Purpose To provide daily training to teach individuals to attain and maintain the skills necessary to achieve maximum functional independence. Support and promote the rights of Individuals and function effectively as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Essential Functions The RBT/ Behavior Technician’s essential functions are to provide 1:1 or group ABA therapy/ Behavior Support to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. The RBT/ Behavior technician is the front line and must engage in daily communication with parents/ guardians at pick up or drop off. Consult with team members about behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations, and social skills, and provide staff with resources, tools, and in-center modeling of techniques; Implement programs, consult with BCBA, BCaBA, and Program Manager regarding programming, attend staff meetings; Implement behavior plans for and assist with assessing the progress of effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications Assist with behavior assessments Ensure timely completion of progress reports & graphed data, as assigned by BCBA or BCaBA Ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across clinical follow-through with programs to ensure efficacious delivery across settings. Assist with developing data collection measures and collecting data on a daily basis as outlined on each individual’s datasheet Attend team meetings as necessary and requested. Assist with the development of appropriate plans and curriculum for students who require all levels of behavior programming Demonstrate proficiency in using applied behavior analysis by carrying out behavior change projects meeting designated standards of reliability and scientific rigor, satisfactorily answering questions in regard to the principles of behavior, and by demonstrating proficiency on the evaluation developed for each of the essential skills of the position. Work 1:1 with students and run social skill groups when necessary Maintain a professional clinical approach when meeting families and clients. Maintain professional boundaries Serve as the primary contact point with parents or guardians at pick up and drop off. Uphold the BACB’s ethical and best practices guidelines. Attend community events and run information dissemination booths at events to increase interest and client base, as requested to do so/ volunteer to do so Other duties as required. Skills/Abilities Ability to teach consumers. Communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a team. Exhibit patience, maintain a good sense of humor, and be emotionally secure with the ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to use good body mechanics in controlling erratic behavior and participating in physical activities with the Consumers as part of their program. Mobile, with a quick response time to emergencies. Knowledge of personal hygiene and personal care. Knowledge of the special needs of Consumers with developmental disabilities. Care-giving, nurturing, compassionate, and patient in establishing relationships with Consumers and their families. Must be able to read and write. Must be reliable in attendance and timeliness to work schedules. Practice good organizational skills. Must be flexible and maintain a positive attitude. Willingness to learn. Ability to accept feedback and modify teaching methods as needed Ability to implement behavioral programming, including but not limited to: shaping, least to most restrictive prompting, errorless teaching, implementing toileting and feeding protocols Team player Communicate in a clear, professional manner Perform as Needed CPR Abdominal thrust maneuver Respond quickly to life-threatening or emergency situations SAMA techniques. At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. Excellent written and vocal communication skills Experience working with a range of children with autism, from those who exhibit severe challenging behaviors to children who have social skills deficits Must have a clean criminal history and be able to pass the pre-employment process Required License(s) and Certifications Must hold a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or be willing to go through the training and obtain an RBT credential within 90 days of hire. Must maintain current CPR; First Aid; and SAMA certification. Must maintain current Texas Driver's License and driver’s insurance certificate on file. Safety and Health Risks Blood and bodily fluid exposure. Slip and fall exposure. Physical and verbal abuse exposure from Consumers and/or their families. Exposure to muscle strains from lifting, stooping, reaching, and twisting. Physical Job Requirements O = Occasionally (1-33%) F = Frequently (34-66%) C = Constantly (67-100%) (F) Lift and carry 40-80 lbs. while handling Consumers. (C) Dexterity to grasp small objects. (C) Walk, in order to respond to needs of Consumers. (C) Stoop, clean, work, and play with Consumers. (C) Normal range of motion to assist Consumers with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and eating. (C) Moderate to strong strength and stamina required for Consumer care in emergency situations. (C) Stand to assist Consumers dress and provide other types of personal care. (O) Push wheelchair/ stroller with Consumers whose total weight may exceed 200 pounds.
