Opportunity:


RN - MedSurg


Job Details:


• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census can occur in 4-hour increments; unit may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Work in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing care for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5 on days/evenings and 1:5 to 1:7 on nights
• Fast-paced unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day with 90-95% occupancy during the week
• Average patient length of stay is 2-3 days (excluding joint patients)
• Must have ability to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work as a team
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

The Post Surgical Care Unit is a fast-paced, 40-bed inpatient area that supports patients across the full continuum of pre and post-surgical care. The facility maintains high occupancy rates and emphasizes team-based, acuity-driven patient care to meet the diverse needs of its adult and geriatric patient population.
