We're hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel contract role at a hospital in Ashland, AL. Minimum Requirements

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Active Alabama state license or ability to obtain required state licensure prior to start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from AHA or ARC.
• Experience working in a hospital setting preferred.
• Proficiency with occupational therapy tools, documentation systems, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates must be open to a temp-to-perm arrangement; willing to consider permanent placement following the assignment.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Conduct therapeutic activities and instruct patients and families in use of therapeutic equipment and home programs.
• Monitor and report patient progress, modifying treatment plans in consultation with the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress and treatments consistent with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• NBCOT certification and current state licensure as required.
• BLS/CPR certification from AHA or ARC.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a healthcare team and adapt to diverse patient needs.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous hospital experience preferred but not required.
