Contract Administrator, System Value-Based Initiatives Department/Unit: Integrated Delivery Systems. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Salary Range: $77,075.00 – $119,466.00. This position is located at 43 New Scotland, Albany, New York, with required travel to affiliate locations such as Saratoga Hospital, Glens Falls Hospital, and Columbia Memorial Hospital. Job Summary The Contract Administrator, System Value-Based Initiatives supports the development and implementation of contracting strategies for AMC/IDS AMHS. The role involves data-supported recommendations, negotiation with payers, economic and risk assessment, performance monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities Make data-supported recommendations and support development of contracting strategies. Negotiate contracts with commercial and governmental payers and manage existing contract portfolios. Prepare contract proposals, conduct meetings, and present proposals to internal stakeholders. Coordinate operational input across internal departments (e.g., Practice and Hospital Administration, Billing, Finance, Information Systems, Utilization Management, Quality, Credentialing, Managed Care, etc.). Develop reporting instruments for contract performance and profit/loss comparisons. Develop payer profiles including membership, market share, financials, products, and volume information. Work cross-functionally to evaluate and develop proposals, identify opportunities and risks, and present findings. Collaborate with Legal, Quality, and Compliance to ensure compliance with contract provisions and implementation capabilities. Monitor contract renewal dates and coordinate timely contract analyses. Mediation of contract disputes and ensuring compliance internally and externally. Collect, analyze, and complete spreadsheets for comparative and economic assessments. Collaborate with Data Analytics to develop routine reporting instruments. Assist with IDS Affiliate contracting processes related to payer contracting. Maintain knowledge of federal and New York State regulations pertaining to medical services reimbursement. Provide contract education to system-wide departments and executive leadership. Perform special projects and assignments as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Health Care Administration required; Master’s preferred. 4–6 years of experience in managed-care negotiations and network operations; 1–3 years leading complex payer negotiations and mediation. Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with data-informed decision-making experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of value-based payment models, Federal and NYS VBP roadmaps.
