Field Service Technician

Position Summary The Field Service Technician travels extensively to repair, maintain, and start up specified Bartelt Packaging equipment. They serve as a communication link between the customer and the Company to provide excellent customer service and ensure all installation, integration, and maintenance are completed to the required specifications. Responsibilities Install, integrate, repair, and troubleshoot flexible packaging machinery of complex design. Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met. Direct and/or oversee customer personnel during plant machinery installations and integrations or servicing. Provide on‑site customization of machine programs by revising programs to meet customer needs. Maintain a 24‑hour on‑call status and provide customer technical telephone support when needed. Provide factory floor support when not providing customer field service support/travel. Provide customer training regarding operation and service of the machinery. Assist customers with aftermarket parts needs in the field. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years experience in machinery repair. Knowledge and skills of mechanical principles. Strong customer service focus and good communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and from time to time internationally. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to train customer personnel on equipment. Preferred: Experience with flexible packaging material machinery. Preferred: PLC programming experience.
