Registered Nurse - Infusion

Job Summary:

Provides specialized infusion nursing care to oncology patients within a comprehensive cancer treatment center. Delivers high-quality patient care through administration of infusions, monitoring, and education, supporting the center's collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer blood transfusions, chemotherapy, iron, Remicade, and other infusion therapies in accordance with protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage complications during infusion treatments.
  
  
• 
  Access and care for mediports and central lines, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.
  
  
• 
  Document patient assessments, interventions, and treatment progress accurately in electronic medical records.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and family members on treatment procedures, side effects, and post-care instructions.
  
  
• 
  Maintain competence in peripheral IV insertion, central line management, and dysrhythmia recognition.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current Massachusetts RN license required and must be uploaded with profile.
  
  
• 
  At least 2 years of recent infusion experience in a clinical setting.
  
  
• 
  IV Certification, with proficiency in mediport access and central line management.
  
  
• 
  Ability to perform peripheral IV insertions and handle chemotherapy/biotherapy infusions.
  
  
• 
  BLS and ACLS certifications active and current.
  
  
• 
  Basic Dysrhythmia course completion required; OCN preferred.
