Shop Foreman / Equipment Manager

ARS Companies is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman / Equipment Manager to lead our equipment maintenance and repair operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the shop, managing mechanics and support personnel, coordinating equipment repairs, and ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable, and productive.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage personnel, equipment, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all shop personnel, mechanics, welders, and support staff.
• Schedule and prioritize preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections for company equipment.
• Coordinate field service repairs and emergency breakdown response throughout Colorado.
• Maintain equipment records, service schedules, repair histories, and compliance documentation.
• Oversee parts inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and equipment-related expenses.
• Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and welding-related repairs.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
• Work closely with project managers, and operations personnel to maximize equipment availability and utilization.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and repair costs.
• Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and productive shop environment.
• Assist in equipment replacement planning, fleet expansion, and capital equipment evaluations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and construction equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience required.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with maintenance tracking, work orders, and equipment records.
• CDL preferred.
