Field Service Engineer - Bay Area, CA

Becton Dickinson & Co

BD seeks a Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for automated dispensing systems across the Bay Area, including Department of Defense facilities. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing proprietary hardware and software while managing service documentation and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Provide remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems and resolve work orders
Diagnose and repair proprietary hardware and software components with full case ownership
Execute preventive maintenance programs, installations, repairs, and calibrations
Document service activities, expenses, and time logs while ensuring regulatory compliance
Build customer relationships through professional communication and support for deployments

Requirements

1–3 years combined hardware, software, and IT support experience
Medical or electromechanical device repair experience required
Associate degree in related field or 3+ years field service experience
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily by car
Mechanical aptitude to disassemble and reassemble complex systems
Ability to lift 85 lbs frequently and 115 lbs occasionally
