Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting students by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity is based onsite and offers direct, individualized support to students in need. Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
- Familiarity with individualized educational plans (IEPs) and assessment strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide instruction and modifications tailored to each student’s needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational experience
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, one-on-one instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to accommodate students’ communication preferences and learning styles
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialized staff to ensure student goals are met
- Conduct ongoing assessments and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and families
- Offer guidance and resources to educators regarding best practices for DHH students
- Engage with families to promote involvement and understanding of student needs
