Pay: $20/hr to start, increasing to $23/hr after 60 days

Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Union Position: Local 120

As a General Laborer, you will support the manufacturing and reconditioning of steel barrels using automated and manual equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating chain conveyors, automatic cutters, burners, and welding equipment
• Loading, moving, and handling steel barrels, drums, and containers
• Forming and seam welding metal barrels
• Removing paint from used barrels through automated processes
• Performing quality checks to meet safety and production standards
• Maintaining production speed and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment
• Troubleshooting basic mechanical issues
• Following all industrial safety protocols when working with heavy machinery and materials

Training is provided. Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

Required skills and abilities:

• General labor or production experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
• Ability to perform physical work and remain on your feet throughout the shift
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Comfortable working in noisy, hot, cold, or industrial environments
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear communication skills (English or Spanish)

Additional qualifications (not required):

• Forklift or machine operation experience
• Metal fabrication or welding experience
• Previous experience in a union manufacturing environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with heavy machinery and automated equipment.

• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and occasional outdoor work
• Required PPE includes steel‑toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
• Fast‑paced, safety‑focused production environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
