Title: Associate, Business Development Location: Hybrid in New York City About Howden Private Capital Howden Private Capital (HPC) is a specialty broking group built around the needs of sophisticated investors and dealmakers. We work across the full transaction lifecycle, from pre-deal diligence through placement and claims, serving private equity firms, asset managers, infrastructure investors, corporations, and the lawyers and bankers who advise them. Our practice spans P&C and business insurance tailored to capital allocators, transactional risk (RWI, tax liability, contingent risk, and credit insurance), and advisory services including insurance and employee benefits due diligence. What is the role? The Marketing Associate is a high-impact, highly visible role within HPC, with broad ownership of the group’s marketing strategy. This person will define how HPC presents itself to the market, develop and execute across all marketing channels, and bring new ideas that strengthen our brand, deepen referral relationships, and support business development. Day to day, the role covers client-facing materials, digital presence, thought leadership, events, and proposals, working closely with subject matter experts and the central Howden US Marketing team to ensure everything that leaves the group is accurate, differentiated, and built to the standard our clients expect. What will you be doing? Brand & Content Marketing – Own the development and ongoing refresh of core marketing materials, including firm overview decks, capability presentations, and product brochures in close partnership with brokers and subject matter experts. Support HPC's content distribution across all channels, including the Howden website, email marketing, LinkedIn, and trade publications, ensuring thought leadership and firm news reach the right audiences in a consistent, professional format. Sales Enablement & Business Development Support – Build and maintain a modular library of pitch decks, slides, templates, and competitive positioning materials that act as the foundation for tailored client and project deliverables. RFPs & Formal Proposals – Act as the central marketing resource for RFPs and formal proposals, coordinating inputs across stakeholders, and ensuring responses are accurate and professionally formatted on tight deadlines. Events, Conferences & Sponsorships – Lead preparation of event materials and branded collateral, support client and referral source event execution, and coordinate post-event follow-up outreach and deliverables. What are we looking for? 4-10 years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably within insurance, financial services, professional services, legal, or a start-up environment. Proven experience owning and producing client‑facing marketing materials, including pitch decks, brochures, capability overviews, and proposal content. Strong ability to work with technical subject matter experts and translate complex concepts into clear, compelling marketing content. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, with a strong understanding of presentation structure, visual hierarchy, and modular content design; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (or similar design tools) is a plus. Direct experience supporting sales enablement, proposals, and RFP responses, including coordinating input across multiple stakeholders. Comfortable managing updates to web content, bios, and digital marketing assets. Experience with email marketing platforms, campaign execution, distribution list management and the KPIs used to evaluate ROI from marketing spend. Highly organized and an ability to excel in an environment with multiple priorities and deadlines that can change quickly, requiring flexibility, sound judgment, and responsiveness. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in client-facing materials where accuracy and precision directly reflect the firm's credibility. Compensation and Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000-$140,000; actual base salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience and work location. This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In addition to a competitive base salary, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
