Dermatology Leadership Opportunity

Responsible for improving Dermatology care for Optum Massachusetts patients through dynamic leadership and collaboration.

Primary responsibilities include identifying cost effective best practices across the state, identify new technologies, unify patient and clinician experience, and aid in recruiting. 0.1 dedicated admin time

Key responsibilities:

• Management and delivery of high quality, patient centric and safe care.
• Clinical leadership with focus on site and specialty clinical issues.
• Interface between Specialty Administration and physicians.
• Promotes understanding and alignment with strategic goals of the organization.
• Oversees implementation of organizational initiatives at the local level.
• Implements cost savings measures and maximizes use of organizational resources.
• Drives change within the department using organizational tools.
• Responsible for implementation of Care Improvement initiatives.
• Front line clinician leader responsible for execution of organizational goals.
• Ensures success of clinician impact on local level.
• Models organizational expectations of Service Excellence.
• Optimizes relationships with local hospitals and community providers.
• Sets agendas and manages local clinical team meetings.
• Represents department in other specialty and site venues as requested.
• Maintains an active practice at Optum Massachusetts as a clinical provider.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities:

• Engages staff in formulating effective working relationships.
• Supervises a group of clinical staff and collaborates closely with other staff.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies.
• Supports personalized career development for all clinicians.
• Ensures adequate clinical office and on-call coverage for the practice.

Required qualifications:

• Licensed in the State of Massachusetts as a Medical Doctor (M.D.), Board Certified.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

Preferred qualifications:

• Additional degree(s) in business administration, public health or clinical operations desirable.
• 3+ years of clinical leadership experience.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $237,500 - $387,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
