We are seeking an approachable, organized, and dependable HR Generalist to support employees and leaders throughout the employee lifecycle. This role is a good fit for an HR professional who is ready to independently manage core responsibilities while continuing to develop experience in employee relations, talent development, and HR operations. What You'll Do Employee Support and Relations Serve as an accessible HR resource for employees and leaders Respond to questions related to policies, benefits, payroll, time off, and other employment matters Help leaders address employee communication, performance concerns, documentation, and policy questions Support employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and good judgment Help provide a positive, consistent, and responsive employee experience Recruiting and Onboarding Coordinate job postings, candidate communication, interviews, background checks, and pre-employment activities Partner with hiring leaders to support recruiting plans and maintain a positive candidate experience Prepare offer letters and other employment documentation Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities Support university recruiting, co-op hiring, career fairs, and community partnerships HR Operations and Compliance Maintain accurate employee records and HR system information Process employee changes involving compensation, job titles, reporting relationships, employment status, and benefits Support payroll preparation and help resolve payroll or timekeeping questions Administer leave, PTO, benefit enrollment, and other employee programs Maintain required documentation and support compliance with applicable employment requirements Assist with policies, employee communications, reporting, audits, and annual HR processes Identify opportunities to simplify and improve HR processes Performance and Employee Development Coordinate performance review and employee development processes Support leaders with goal setting, feedback, and performance documentation Help identify and coordinate training and professional-development opportunities Track certifications, development plans, and other talent information Contribute to employee engagement, recognition, retention, and workforce-planning efforts Qualifications One to three years of relevant human resources or people-operations experience Experience supporting areas such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave administration, employee relations, performance management, or HR administration General understanding of employment practices and applicable federal and state requirements Ability to independently manage routine employee questions and recognize when additional guidance or escalation is needed Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with employees and leaders Clear, thoughtful, and professional written and verbal communication Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment Experience using HRIS, payroll, benefits, or applicant-tracking systems A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field is helpful but not required. Equivalent professional experience, training, and demonstrated HR capabilities will be considered. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ADP or a comparable HR and payroll platform Experience within an engineering, consulting, technology, professional-services, or project-based organization Experience supporting university, co-op, or early-career recruiting SHRM-CP, PHR, or progress toward a relevant HR certification Experience improving HR processes, documentation, or employee resources What Success Looks Like The successful HR Generalist will be responsive and approachable while bringing consistency, accuracy, and good judgment to HR processes.
