Job Summary:
This Telemetry Medical Surgical Float RN position is located in a healthcare facility within a designated zone around Garden City, Kansas. The role involves working nights with a schedule of 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 48 hours per week. The assignment provides the opportunity to float across multiple units including general medical-surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Urology, Gynecology, Psychiatry, ENT, and other specialty areas, within a zone covering a 60-mile radius.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Schedule is issued 4 to 6 weeks in advance and may include options for fixed or just-in-time assignments. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse; Certifications including BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS; Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry and Medical Surgical experience within the last 3 years; Experience with Epic electronic medical record system preferred; Must have prior neuro experience; Prefer experience with Alaris infusion pumps.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience; Experience with EPIC and Alaris Infusion Pumps.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 4, which covers facilities around Garden City, KS including Ulysses and Dodge City, KS. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing that supports floating across a 60-mile zone.
• Additional Information:
  The unit includes multiple specialties such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Emergency Department observation. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 based on acuity. RN staff may be asked to float into other acuity levels, including ICU (with low acuity holds), Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry units, with low acuity holds within their skillset. The unit's charting system used is EPIC. The facility is a care setting classified as acute.
  The assignment begins on 08/24/2026. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.
