Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This position involves providing routine and complex recovery care for diverse patient populations including orthopedics, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, gynecology, and pediatric patients. The role requires practicing independently within the clinical setting to ensure optimal patient recovery and safety. Job Details Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification, RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative or PACU settings preferred. Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; administering medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitoring for side effects and effectiveness; documenting patient history, symptoms, and care provided; and educating patients, family members, and caregivers. Additional job requirements include attending new nurse orientation within the first 30 days of hire, completing annual competency verification, and precepting new hires as needed. Experience in perioperative nursing, critical care, or related fields is preferred.
