Responsible for insuring that all financial information generated is accurate and timely. The Financial Analyst I will demonstrate Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and Core Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, and Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties.The Financial Analyst I will:Perform financial analysis including standard modeling, projections, reports, and presentations using financial and encounter reporting tools and data.Provide key support and analysis in annual operating and capital budget planning process.Collaborate with and provide technical and analytic support to department managers in preparation of department level budget.Prepare monthly reports (specifically financial performance and capital budget tracking) and communicate trends and issues that impact the business.Assist in treasury functions such as cash management, investment management, and debt compliance.Assist with conducting financial and market analysis on various internal initiatives and external business development opportunities.Identify and recommend areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report.Educate self through industry readings, conferences, and other forums on critical financial and healthcare trends.Perform financial risk and care/cost variation analysis including some advanced statistical techniques.Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the SRAlab.Reporting Relationships:Reports directly to the Manager Financial Planning & AnalysisKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Bachelor's degree required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.Entry level to 2 years of experience with basic financial skills, including a working understanding of the relationship between income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows, and learns to use professional concepts.Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems.Able to follow standard instructions, practices, and procedures in performing financial analysis and data modeling.Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise mannerAbility to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines.Proficient with Excel functionality such as lookups, pivot tables, and charts.Proficient in the use of communication and organization tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Experience with financial planning tools such as Axiom or Adaptive Planning preferred.Experience with other financial based software programs such as Tableau and Decision Tools (or other statistics, optimization, and Monte Carlo simulation tool) preferred.Able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment.Working Conditions:Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.Work requires ability to sit at a computer for long stretches, and visual ability to read numbers clearly.Hybrid work scheduleThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
