Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Endoscopy License: Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: Procedure room documentation Knowledge of procedure room tools and turnover Admit, recover, moderate/conscious sedation Description: This position performs direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role involves monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments. The goal is to optimize patient care and comfort. The nurse functions within the scope of nursing preparation. Responsibilities are consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. The position requires adherence to the applicable Nurse Practice Act and the Code of Professional Ethics. The nurse will perform related duties as assigned. Basic knowledge of dysrhythmia is required. Good communication skills are essential for working closely with physicians and staff. Skills are needed to work with delicate instruments. Working conditions may involve standing, walking, and sitting most of the time on duty. The nurse may be required to work differing schedules and shifts. The role includes lifting, pushing, and moving heavy equipment. The nurse should be able to work with fluoroscopy and meet physical demands of the position. Specialized skills, judgment, and knowledge are expected. The equipment used includes video/fiberoptic endoscopic systems and patient monitoring equipment. This position may entail working in a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment. The nurse is expected to adhere to the dress code requirements for scrubs. Physical demands include the ability to grip, pinch, and perform low-positioned work.
