About the Position

We are looking for a Registered Dietitian to provide individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) in a hybrid setting . Sessions are primarily in-office , with a caseload of 27–32 patient hours per week . A minimum of 20 patient hours must be conducted in-office , with the remainder offered remotely for flexibility.

Core Responsibilities

• 1:1 Medical Nutrition Therapy – Conduct individualized patient counseling using the ADIME model , with a caseload of 25–32 patients per week .
• Comprehensive Documentation – Maintain accurate, timely records to ensure continuity of care and compliance.
• Secure, HIPAA-Compliant EMR Communication – Use electronic medical records (EMR) for patient documentation, messaging, and ongoing support.
• Physician Collaboration – Share detailed visit notes with referring providers and coordinate follow-up calls for high-need patients.
• Patient Onboarding & Inquiry Calls – Assist with new patient onboarding and manage inquiry calls to facilitate a seamless experience.
• Compliance & Organization – Ensure all referrals and required paperwork are completed at least 48 hours before the initial visit .
• Clinical & Operational Meetings – Participate in regular RD meetings to discuss clinical care, case reviews, operational workflows, and professional growth.
• Performance Evaluation & Growth – Access monthly reports on patient retention, goal progression, and care quality to support continuous improvement.
• Insurance Knowledge & Patient Support – Develop a working knowledge of insurance policies to help patients maximize coverage . Training is provided, but a willingness to learn is key .

Specialization & Focus Areas

We are specifically seeking a Registered Dietitian interested in learning and specializing in Parkinson’s nutrition . On-the-job training will be provided, and the ideal candidate should be eager to develop expertise in:

• Nutrition & movement disorders , including malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies common in Parkinson’s.
• Parkinson’s-related medication interactions and their impact on nutritional status.
• Modified texture diets (pureed, soft, and mechanically altered) for safe swallowing and optimal intake .
• GI health issues common in Parkinson’s , including constipation, bloating, and the use of low FODMAP strategies .

Beyond Parkinson’s care, women’s health and GI-focused nutrition therapy will make up a significant portion of the caseload. A background in GI health is preferred but not required , as we will provide the necessary training and mentorship.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in Nutrition or a related field.
• Credentials: Registered Dietitian (RD).
• Licensure: Active Connecticut dietitian license.
• CDR Standing: Good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) .
• Experience: Preferred 2+ years of outpatient counseling , with training in Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change model, and behavior change strategies .
