The Corporate Compliance Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for managing, coordinating, and monitoring corporate compliance programs across Akhiok-Kaguyak, Inc. (AKI) and its subsidiaries.

This position serves as the organization's primary corporate compliance resource, ensuring that business activities align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, government contracting requirements, corporate policies, and established internal controls.

The Corporate Compliance Manager provides independent compliance oversight, evaluates regulatory risks, develops and maintains compliance procedures, conducts internal reviews, coordinates audits, recommends corrective actions, and advises the CEO on significant compliance matters.

Primary areas of responsibility include FAR/DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, SBA 8(a)/ANC requirements, the Service Contract Act (SCA), applicable federal contractor employment regulations, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) initiatives.

This position works collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, Contracts, Operations, and Information Technology to establish consistent compliance practices, monitor regulatory obligations, and support organizational audit readiness and continuous improvement.

The Corporate Compliance Manager must demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, establish positive and collaborative working relationships across all levels of the organization, and effectively communicate compliance expectations, findings, and recommendations in a professional and constructive manner.

This position is dedicated exclusively to corporate and regulatory compliance and does not include direct management of other corporate departments. Department leaders retain responsibility for implementing compliance requirements within their respective functions, while the Corporate Compliance Manager provides independent monitoring, guidance, coordination, and reporting.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain AKI's corporate compliance program across all subsidiaries and contract entities.
• Serve as the primary compliance advisor to the CEO, providing guidance on regulatory requirements, compliance risks, internal controls, and corrective actions.
• Independently evaluate compliance risks and recommend policies, procedures, and preventive measures to strengthen organizational compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate compliance policies and procedures in coordination with department leadership and subject to required approvals.
• Establish and maintain a centralized compliance calendar identifying regulatory deadlines, reporting obligations, certification renewals, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor changes in applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assess their potential impact on the organization.
• Conduct periodic compliance assessments to identify regulatory gaps, procedural deficiencies, and areas of potential exposure.
• Maintain a centralized compliance risk register documenting identified risks, responsible parties, mitigation activities, and corrective action status.
• Provide regular compliance updates to the CEO, including significant findings, outstanding obligations, regulatory changes, and recommendations.
• Escalate suspected violations, significant deficiencies, and matters requiring legal interpretation to the CEO and appropriate legal counsel.
• Monitor and evaluate compliance with applicable FAR, DFARS, and other federal government contracting requirements.
• Coordinate compliance activities associated with DCAA and DCMA requirements, reviews, and audits.
• Collaborate with Contracts and Program Management to identify, document, and monitor contract-specific compliance obligations.
• Establish and maintain tracking systems for required contract certifications, reporting obligations, regulatory submissions, and compliance-related deliverables.
• Monitor applicable SCA requirements, including wage determinations, health and welfare benefits, required notices, and recordkeeping, in coordination with Human Resources and Payroll.
• Evaluate potential contract compliance deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate and maintain compliance documentation associated with AKI's ANC structure and applicable SBA programs.
• Monitor SBA 8(a) program requirements, annual reviews, reporting obligations, and certification deadlines for participating subsidiaries.
• Maintain documentation supporting applicable ownership, organizational structure, size standards, and program eligibility requirements.
• Coordinate with Contracts and Finance to monitor applicable limitations on subcontracting and other small-business program requirements.
• Monitor System for Award Management (SAM.gov) registrations, representations, certifications, and renewal deadlines.
• Coordinate the preparation and organization of documentation required for SBA reviews, government inquiries, and regulatory submissions.
• Identify and report potential eligibility concerns or regulatory deficiencies to the CEO and appropriate legal counsel.
• Manage and coordinate corporate compliance activities supporting the company's CMMI implementation, maintenance, and appraisal readiness.
• Develop and maintain a centralized repository of organizational policies, procedures, process assets, templates, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with designated process owners to ensure established procedures are documented, current, and consistently implemented.
• Conduct process compliance reviews to evaluate adherence to established organizational procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate readiness assessments, internal reviews, and preparation for formal CMMI appraisals.
• Maintain records of process improvement initiatives, compliance findings, corrective actions, and supporting evidence.
• Establish and monitor applicable process compliance metrics and provide status reports to the CEO.
• Recommend improvements to organizational processes, documentation practices, and internal controls.
• Coordinate compliance-related training and awareness activities associated with established organizational processes.
• Support organizational efforts to achieve and maintain applicable CMMI maturity objectives and promote continuous process improvement.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based compliance review and audit schedule in coordination with the CEO and department leadership.
• Conduct internal compliance reviews to assess adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, corporate policies, and established procedures.
• Develop audit checklists, review procedures, documentation requests, and compliance assessment materials.
• Coordinate preparation for external audits, government reviews, regulatory inquiries, and certification assessments.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for corporate compliance audits and reviews, as authorized by the CEO.
• Evaluate audit findings, identify potential compliance risks, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain a centralized audit findings and corrective action tracking system.
• Work collaboratively with responsible department leaders to establish corrective action plans, assigned responsibilities, and completion deadlines.
• Monitor corrective action progress and independently verify that identified deficiencies have been appropriately addressed.
• Identify recurring findings and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare audit summaries and provide the CEO with updates regarding findings, corrective actions, unresolved issues, and potential organizational exposure.
• Maintain organized audit documentation and supporting records to ensure ongoing organizational readiness.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive schedule of required corporate, regulatory, and government contracting reports, certifications, and renewals.
• Coordinate with responsible departments to ensure regulatory submissions are accurate, complete, and submitted within applicable deadlines.
• Monitor applicable federal contractor reporting requirements, including EEO-1, VETS-4212, and affirmative action obligations, in coordination with Human Resources.
• Coordinate with Finance and Contracts to maintain documentation supporting applicable DCAA, DCMA, SBA, and contractual reporting requirements.
• Monitor required registrations, licenses, certifications, and compliance-related credentials.
• Maintain documentation and confirmation records supporting completed regulatory submissions.
• Develop and maintain a centralized corporate compliance policy and procedure repository.
• Conduct periodic policy reviews to identify outdated requirements, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend updates to corporate policies and internal controls based on regulatory changes, audit findings, and identified compliance risks.
• Coordinate with department leadership to develop and implement approved compliance procedures.
• Maintain document version control, approval records, revision histories, and distribution records.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance-related internal controls and recommend improvements to address identified deficiencies.
• Escalate missed deadlines, incomplete submissions, and significant internal control concerns to the CEO.
• Develop and coordinate compliance training and awareness initiatives across AKI and its subsidiaries.
• Identify training needs resulting from regulatory changes, audit findings, updated policies, and compliance assessments.
• Coordinate with department leadership to ensure personnel receive applicable compliance training and communications.
• Maintain records of required training completion, certifications, and policy acknowledgments.
• Track training renewal requirements and notify responsible parties of upcoming deadlines.
• Communicate regulatory updates, revised compliance procedures, and organizational compliance expectations clearly and professionally to appropriate personnel.
• Serve as a central resource for compliance-related inquiries, documentation requests, and procedural guidance.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with department leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to facilitate cooperation and compliance.
• Communicate compliance findings and recommendations constructively, demonstrating professionalism, diplomacy, and respect when addressing sensitive or challenging matters.
