SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Hybrid in Monte Vista, CO (or remote in Southern New Mexico)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Service Technician is responsible for responding to customer requests for service on machinery promptly. The candidate will have practical mechanical and electrical experience that can be applied to the lines of machinery distributed. They will have working experience in warehouse environments, handling time-sensitive projects or repairs. The Service Technician will coordinate with other service team members to respond to customer needs, and work collaboratively with multiple departments.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Develop knowledge and skills to be applied to lines of produce handling equipment.
• Convey parts orders and urgency to the Parts Department as needs arise for equipment service or project requirements.
• Program PLC’s.
• Implement controls on conveyance and produce packing equipment installations, meeting electrical requirements and safety standards.
• Collaborate with customers to develop preventative maintenance plans.
• Inspection and preventative maintenance on pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues over the phone or in person with customers as necessary.
• Prioritize customer requests for service that have more urgent breakdowns over preventative maintenance.
• Communicate with vendors for technical training or support, working with time zone differences for international vendors.
• Establish relationships with customers and communicate about service needs and requirements effectively.
• Must be self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills.
• Problem solving under pressure.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field not required.
• Minimum 2 or more years of experience in service-related field and customer service.
• Thorough understanding of electrical theory and electrical controls.

Travel:

• Travel to customer location up to 25% but may be increased during training period.
• Company vehicle and credit card will be available for travel purposes.

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear, and use hands and fingers. The employee is also required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This role offers annual compensation between $110,000 - $130,000 + travel bonuses + company vehicle + company credit card for expenses
