Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Onsite Locum Tenens Job in Coastal Southern California Details/Requirements: One to two Psychiatrists needed starting as soon as credentialed. Must be comfortable seeing both adult and adolescent populations in person. ADC is currently in the low 30s, with the ability to ramp up as census grows. Schedule: day coverage, minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility based on census and workflow. Plus shared call amongst 1-2 doctors for weeknights and weekend nights after doing a minimum 8-hour day shift that day. Average 2-3 calls per night when on night call. No call backs, only phone calls. All doctors need to be able to handle calls for both adult and adolescent patients, ages 13 and up. Caseload expectations: Target is 15-20 patients per day per provider. Mainly inpatient setting, some PHP & IOP. Board Certification is required. All doctors need to be comfortable seeing both adults and adolescents, ages 13 and up. See above re: shared night call responsibilities. An Internist does the medical physicals for new admissions. Electronic health record - so candidates must be computer savvy. Hospital credentialing/privileging can take approximately two months, sometimes longer. Requires 3-month minimum assignments with the possibility of extending if mutually agreed upon.
